We’re excited to announce the official start of our Diamond Garage Condos project in Cassopolis, Michigan! Today marks Bulldozer Day 1, and we’re off to a fantastic start with Tom Stephenson leading the charge on the excavation work. The goal for this phase is to strip the topsoil for all four building sites and begin digging the retention pond, setting the stage for stormwater management and utility installation. A Perfect Day to Break Ground

The weather couldn’t have been better for our first day of excavation—clear blue skies with scattered, fluffy clouds creating an ideal setting for heavy machinery and hard work. In the first photo, you can see the sprawling site where the four buildings of Diamond Garage Condos will eventually rise. Tom Stephenson is operating the bulldozer, skillfully stripping the topsoil to prepare the land. Piles of dark, rich earth are being moved aside, revealing the groundwork for what’s to come. Stakes with pink flags mark the boundaries, and in the background, you can spot Cassopolis’s Ross Beatty High School, a familiar landmark for locals.

The second photo captures a different perspective of the site, showcasing a section where a layer of gravel has been meticulously laid, forming the main entry driveway—the grand gateway to Diamond Garage Condos. In the distance, the bulldozer tirelessly continues its task of clearing topsoil, while the surrounding area reveals the initial contours of the retention pond excavation. The expansive open fields and far-off tree line emphasize the vast, unspoiled space we’re transforming, perfectly suited for this visionary project.

In the third photo, we get a closer look at Tom Stephenson in action. He’s expertly maneuvering the bulldozer, pushing through a large mound of topsoil with precision. The machine, a reliable piece of equipment from Caterpillar, is making quick work of the task at hand. You can see the focus and efficiency in the way the dozer operates, a testament to Tom’s experience and the quality of the equipment we’re using.

A Big Thank You to Our Local Caterpillar Dealer

We want to give a special shout-out to our local Caterpillar dealer for their incredible support. They rented us the bulldozer for this project and were wonderfully flexible with the delivery schedule. Thanks to their willingness to work with us, we were able to have the dozer on-site right when the weather was perfect—like today! Their partnership has been invaluable in helping us kick off this project on the right foot, and we’re so grateful for their support.

What’s Next for the Project?

With Bulldozer Day 1 behind us, we’re already looking ahead to the next steps. The topsoil stripping will continue across the four building sites, and the retention pond excavation will progress to ensure proper stormwater management. Once these foundational tasks are complete, we’ll move on to installing the necessary utilities, bringing us one step closer to breaking ground on the buildings themselves. We’ll be sharing more updates and photos as the project unfolds, so stay tuned for the latest developments!
